About Radio Lilanguka
Radio Lilanguka is an electronic broadcasting media institution situated in Mangochi Municipality off Mangochi Police Station along Mkawajika Street opposite Mangochi Prison Service.
Although Operation Mobilisation (OM), the main missionary organization behind the establishment of this radio station, was awarded a broadcasting license in October 2016, Radio Lilanguka was officially opened by the Malawi Communication Regulatory Authority (Macra) on 2 March 2018.
Radio Lilanguka targets mainly Yao-speaking communities situated in the eastern region of Malawi by bringing among them light (lilanguka) through radio programs that inform, educate, entertain, unite, motivate, and enlighten towards self-empowerment. Hence, 70 percent of its broadcasting is in Yao language.
